Negativity has always been viewed as a bad thing.  But come to think of it, that is how the perspective of truth is uncovered.

Often we have been told to "think positive"...that "help will come"..."don't loose hope."  But it's not always the case, because if it is then pain and suffering will not exist.

Maybe it is time to unveil "the truth" ...that life is not made of rainbows...or as soft & sweet like cotton candy...or that silver lining truly exists.

Fate is not kind and destiny sucks....there is no such thing as success, it is recognized because the other thing fails.

Difficult times are just as they are ---difficult.

Unfortunate events will still happen whether you read this or not - no difference really.

When something good happens, it is perceived as a miracle.  But when something bad happens, we convince ourselves that everything happens for a reason.

An epiphany of sorts - maybe it is time to acknowledge & accept the "negative things" in life.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS-

1. Earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, which recently recognized her as one of its Distinguished Alumni. 

2. Completed her Masters in Business Administration at the New York University.

3. Received an Honoris Causa in Doctor in Humanities from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU).

4. Won in a landslide victory as Representative of Las Piñas to the Philippine’s House of Representatives, where she completed three terms or nine years of service until 2010.
5. Served as chairperson of the Congressional Spouses Foundation from 1998 to 2000.
6. Sponsored and led the passage of R.A. No. 9177, An Act Declaring the First Day of Shawwal, the Tenth Month of the Islamic Calendar, National Holiday for the Observance of Eidul Fitr and the Tenth Day of Zhuld Hijja. The Twelfth Month of the Islamic Calendar, a Regional Holiday in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) for the Observance of Eidul Adha, Amending for the Purpose Section 26, Chapter 7 of Executive No. 292, Otherwise known as the Administrative Code of 1987, and for Other Purposes.

As an ENTREPRENEUR -

7. Describes herself as a social entrepreneur.
8. Founded and chaired the Villar Foundation in 1992, where she is now actively involved as Managing Director.
9. Led the passage of bills that benefited entrepreneurs, among which was the Magna Carta of Micro-Enterprises and Republic Act 9178 or the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBEs) Act.
10. Believes that entrepreneurship should be integrated in the school curricula from elementary until college.

16. Vocal about her position on the planned 635.14-hectare Manila Bay reclamation project that will affect Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA).  She filed a petition for Writ of Kalikasan on March 16 against the said project.
17. Loves to do gardening if and when she finds the time.
18. River Rehabilitation Programs & Social Enterprises in Las Piñas City is her main project and plans to help replicate it in other cities.

As an EDUCATOR -

EXPRESSWAY ROBBERY

2013 April 11 at around 8:30 in the morning, while riding a jeep (in front) on my way to work, my bag (and everything in it:  cell phone, digital camera, music player, wallet, among other things) was snatched from me by a man in his early twenty's.  His accomplice was waiting for him on the other side of the wall / fence at the EXPRESSWAY (near Magallanes area).  

It was such an agonizing experience.  Having to see my things gone in a blink of an eye.  There was nothing I could do but cry my heart out.

I HATE THIEVES! I always have and always will!

Thanks to the young lady beside me who gave me P20.00 so I can get to my place of work.

I cried some more.  Then gathered my strength to write what happened to me as my status on Facebook.

Thank you to all those who expressed concerned.  I really appreciate it.

The next day, I have no choice but to pass by the same route on my way to work.  Got chills all over.

Once again, I gathered my strength to look at the wall / fence where I believe the robbers climbed over to.  It was not high enough and there just broken glasses on top.  Not enough to stop a person from committing a crime.

People responded to my Facebook status.  Many commented that "marami talaga dyan sa area na yan" and "madami na nabiktima dyan".  When my neighbor reported this incident to the authorities, she got the same response, "madami na nga po nai-report sa amin".  And yet, NO ACTION is being done.

It would be very helpful if the fences are barbed-wired instead of just broken glasses.  Or how about building a higher fence?  During the incident, there was no one and nowhere to go to.  Police visibility must be enhanced.

This is the first time that something like this happened to me.  It was and still is very traumatic.  I have trouble sleeping.  The incident is on "replay mode" in my mind.

I believe this is ALARMING and I hope the authorities would give attention to this matter.

CYNTHIA VILLAR on SAVING CRITICAL HABITAT & ECOTOURISM AREA

Former Congresswoman and now Senatorial Candidate Cynthia Villar expressed delight over the inclusion of the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA) on the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance.

LPPCHEA is the 6th site in the Philippines designated as such.  It was included on the list on March 15.

Misis Hanep-Buhay stated that, "The inclusion of LPPCHEA on the  List of Wetlands of International Importance is very good news indeed.  We should be proud of the recognition, and at the same time, we are encouraged even more to protect it."

Despite being declared as critical habitat in 2007 by Proclamation No. 1412, there are existing plans to reclaim the area.

We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Villar as the voice of opposition on the planned 635.14-hectare Manila Bay reclamation project which will also affect LPPCHEA.  She filed a petition for Writ of Kalikasan on March 16 against the said project.  

"I have repeatedly talked about the catastrophic effects that the proposed Manila Bay reclamation project will bring about - including the damage to the bird sanctuary as well as to the mangrove forest and marine habitat.  The worst of which, is that it will cause severe flooding in 37 barangays in Bacoor, 11 in Parañaque and 17 in Las Piñas.  Floods with a depth of as much as 5.12 meters or equivalent to a two-storey high building," Villar cited.

Being a resident of Parañaque City, I am very grateful to Mrs. Cynthia Villar for all her efforts in saving the only bird sanctuary in an urban setting --- dubbed as the 'last bastion'.

After a weekend of fun at Conrad's Haven in Pansol, Laguna, our group proceeded to Calamba to visit the Rizal Shrine. 

An inspiring look at the life of our national hero

It was an interesting journey to the past.

One thing that really caught my attention was this inscription for Dr. Rizal's beloved mother Teodora Alonso.

This timely insight is pertinent to what is happening and upcoming in our country today - ELECTION 2013.

The advocacy of Senatorial Candidate Cynthia Villar of the Villar Foundation Inc. pertaining to "livelihood projects out of waste" is a great example of Filipino ingenuity and entrepreneurship. "Misis Hanep Buhay" wants to expand their reach and provide job opportunities especially to women all over the country.

to Quirino Grand Stand.

  Sto. Niño is spanish for "Holy Child."

Various interpretations are depicted in this contemporary times.

The procession also featured different dances of praise to the Child Jesus.

Our family is blessed to have been  part of this event.
